Lan Ha Bay Adventure: A Glimpse of Paradise Near Cat Ba
Following an incredible 3-day journey through the stunning landscapes of Ha Giang, my travels led me back to Hanoi and then onward to Hai Phong, with the captivating island of Cat Ba as my next destination. The motorbike route from Hai Phong city center proved wonderfully straightforward, boasting wide, open roads that made for a truly pleasant ride.
Timing my visit to the beginning of the week, I found myself in the sweet spot before the peak tourist season. This meant a refreshingly uncrowded experience, a welcome respite especially during these times. Fortune smiled upon me with brilliant sunshine gracing the beach that particular day, making the entire experience absolutely delightful. The only minor hiccup? With fewer fellow travelers around, I ended up chartering a private boat for my small group of three, a small price to pay for such an exclusive tour!
Discovering the Azure Waters of Lan Ha Bay
Lan Ha Bay is, without a doubt, a marvel that takes your breath away. The sea water shimmered with an astonishing blue hue, reminiscent of the vibrant Nho Que River in Ha Giang and the serene waters of Ninh Binh. It's a palette of blues that truly captivates the soul.
Given my tight schedule, I wasn't able to explore every nook and cranny of this magnificent bay. Even with limited time, the portion I experienced left me utterly enchanted. If you ever have the chance, I highly recommend dedicating ample time to immerse yourself in the unparalleled beauty of this true "pearl island" firsthand. It's an experience that truly needs to be seen to be believed.
