Discovering the Charm of Mijas, Spain
Just 30 kilometers from Malaga lies Mijas, a captivating little white village that exudes tranquility and beauty. Perhaps because I visited on a Sunday, it felt wonderfully uncrowded, a delightful escape from the typical tourist hotspots.
Getting to Mijas from Malaga
Reaching this picturesque pueblo is easier than you might think. Here are a couple of routes:
- Option 1: Take the Malaga Metro to Fuengirola (approximately €2.40). From there, hop on the M112 bus to Mijas Pueblo (€1.55).
- Option 2: Ride the Malaga Metro to Benalmadena-Arroyo de la Miel (€3.20), then catch the M121 bus to Mijas Pueblo (€1.70).
Exploring Mijas Pueblo: A Feast for the Eyes
In my humble opinion, the best way to experience Mijas is simply to wander through every nook and cranny. Each corner seems to hold a special charm, making you feel like you've stumbled upon a unique photo opportunity at every turn. The village itself is an attraction.
Don't miss these noteworthy spots:
- Village Blanc (the white village itself!)
- Mirador (viewpoint)
- Plaza de Teros
- San Sebastian
- ...and so much more!
All the photos you'll see are taken with a standard phone camera, so rest assured, the reality will not disappoint!
