To reach Frederiksborg:
- Purchase a Copenhagen Day Pass that includes Greater Copenhagen.
- Take the train to Hillerod Station.
- Walk approximately 10 minutes to the castle.
I visited during the autumn, and the cool, crisp air and the lack of crowds made it feel like I had the entire palace to myself. It was a truly special experience.
