Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan: A Few Quick Tips From My Trip

So many of you have messaged me asking for a review, so I'm reminiscing a little about my recent trip to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan!

One country is overflowing with unbelievably beautiful natural landscapes, while in the other, you can't walk three steps without encountering a stunning mosque or Islamic school. But let's keep it short and sweet with just three quick tips! (Because everyone else has already reviewed the rest! 🤣 🤣)

Essential Travel Advice

  1. Absolutely, positively DO NOT grab a random taxi from the airport to your accommodation. Use YandexGo! 🤣
  2. When taking photos with eagles, wear your own gorgeous outfit instead of renting a fur coat. (Obviously, plan your outfit in advance!) Every rented-coat photo looks the same, so bargain upfront and say you ONLY want one photo and NO rented clothing. The price will be much, much lower!
  3. In Uzbekistan, Khiva and Bukhara made a much bigger impression on me than Samarkand and Tashkent. I felt the ancient Silk Road culture much more palpably in those cities. The other two are still beautiful, but weren't as memorable to me. Many of the historical sites have been renovated quite a bit, and the mausoleums are beautifully dreamy...maybe they felt too new, so I only saw their beauty, without making a deeper connection.
