Jordan: A Journey of Difference, Wilderness, and Worth

Hello fellow travel enthusiasts!

I've just returned from an unforgettable trip to Jordan, a captivating Middle Eastern country boasting ancient landscapes, legendary deserts, and incredibly rewarding experiences. While Jordan isn't in Europe, I wanted to share my itinerary and a few tips, as reviews from our community are rare. Hopefully, this will help those planning a trip!

Suggested Itinerary: 5 Days, 4 Nights

(Can be combined after a trip to Egypt or Turkey, or as a stopover from Europe)

  • Day 1: Fly to Amman – Visit the ancient city of Jerash – Travel to Petra
  • Day 2: Explore Petra – One of the New Seven Wonders of the World (surreal beauty, lots of walking, bring water and hiking shoes)
  • Day 3: Wadi Rum – Jeep tour through the desert, watch a breathtaking sunset like another planet at Aicha Luxury Camp
  • Day 4: Travel back to Amman – Visit the Citadel & Roman Theatre, afternoon floating in the Dead Sea Jordan
  • Day 5: Relax, take photos at a Dead Sea resort – Head to the airport for your onward journey

Major Highlights

  • Petra & Wadi Rum are stunning beyond expectations – untouched, mysterious, and very cinematic. The desert landscapes are something special!
  • The Dead Sea is incredibly unique; you float effortlessly without swimming.
  • The Jordanian people are friendly, and the security is quite good.
  • Arab cuisine is both exotic and delicious.

Things to Note

  • Bring your own towel, swimwear, and good walking shoes.
  • Spring (April-May) is the best time to visit – pleasant weather, beautiful scenery, not too hot.
  • If flying from Europe, consider Turkish Airlines or Royal Jordanian, or connecting through Egypt.

If anyone needs a detailed itinerary or actual photos, I can share them. I hope this post is helpful for those planning to explore the Middle East!
