My Hong Kong Adventure: A 5-Day Itinerary
Hey everyone! I'm so excited to share my recent trip to Hong Kong from April. It was a self-planned adventure, piecing together recommendations from online groups and ChatGPT. I pre-booked everything from tickets to SIM cards on Klook and Hongkongbenhong, and even borrowed two Octopus cards from a friend! So helpful!
Getting There
- Flying In: Vietjet (luckily, no delays!)
- Flying Out: Vietnam Airlines ✈️
Where We Stayed
- First 2 nights: Kimberly Hotel
- Last 3 nights: Best Western Plus – Small but super convenient rooms right in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui. Everything was within walking distance!
Foodie Adventures: Eating Our Way Through Hong Kong!
We went on a mission to devour all the iconic Hong Kong dishes! Prepare to be hungry…
- Mak's Noodle for their famous wonton noodles
- Yat Lok for incredible roasted goose
- Bakehouse for the must-try egg tarts
- Kam Wah Cafe for classic Hong Kong milk tea
- Chung So Dessert for comforting tofu pudding
- Tim Ho Wan for Michelin-starred dim sum
- And of course, we popped into random local eateries along the way! 💛
Getting Around Town
- From the airport to the hotel: We took the bus.
- Everywhere else: A mix of walking, the MRT, and the adorable "ding ding" trams!
Our Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: City Views and Urban Exploration 🧡
- Peak Tram – SkyTerrace 428 for panoramic city views.
- Check-in at the iconic Monster Building (Instagram heaven!).
- Ride the Ding Ding tram along the north shore of Hong Kong Island.
- Explore the trendy Kennedy Town.
Day 2: Disneyland Magic 💙
- Disneyland (we arrived at 11 am and still managed to experience all 8 rides with DPA! So efficient!).
- Secured a prime spot for the fireworks show – front row seats! 😎
- Remember to buy your tickets and DPA on Klook for ease and speed.
Day 3: Big Buddha and Harbour Views 💚
- Ngong Ping cable car ride.
- Visit the Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery.
- Afternoon stroll along the Harbourfront for stunning skyline views.
- Evening exploring the vibrant Temple Street Night Market.
Day 4: Wishes and Culture 💜
- Visit Wong Tai Sin Temple to make wishes.
- Check out the unique Couture Museum.
- Quick visit to the former Yau Ma Tei Police Station (it was a bit rainy, so we kept it short).
Day 5: Farewell Hong Kong 💛
- Morning stroll along the Avenue of Stars for some final photos.
- Head to the airport, filled with happy memories. 💼
Since it was our first time, we tried to pack in as many popular spots as possible. If I have the chance to visit Hong Kong again, I'd love to spend more time at the places I especially loved this time around.
