Wang He Niu: Chaozhou Hot Pot in the Heart of Saigon

Wang He Niu, famous for its Chaozhou beef hot pot in Phu My Hung (District 7), recently opened a new branch near Nguyen Hue walking street, right by Takashimaya shopping center. I just had to check it out!

A Taste of China in District 1

The location is prime, and the restaurant boasts a striking Chinese-inspired design with a clean and well-maintained atmosphere. They advertise using fresh beef, and judging by appearance, it certainly looked incredibly fresh and appealing.

A Hot Pot Feast

Our group of six ordered a variety of meats to try, along with two kinds of broth (one mala and a lighter broth – I can't recall the exact name). While the broths weren't exceptionally unique, the meat and offal were definitely impressive. You could really taste the freshness and savory flavor of the beef. The standout was definitely the fresh beef balls; they were incredibly delicious, bursting with a perfectly balanced, springy texture and seasoned with just the right amount of Chinese spices.

Authentic Chinese Beverages

The restaurant also offers a wide selection of popular canned Chinese drinks, such as WangLaoJi herbal tea, pear juice, chrysanthemum tea, and a good selection of beers.

Great Food, Great Value

In total, a satisfying meal for our group of six cost less than 400k VND per person. The price is more than reasonable for such a delicious meal right in the heart of expensive District 1!
