My Stay at Teedo Hotel Kuala Lumpur

A Budget-Friendly Option in the Heart of the City

I recently stayed at Teedo Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, specifically on May 16-17, 2025. This hotel, situated within UTC Pudu Sentral (formerly Puduraya), began its operations in November of last year, having previously been known as Ancasa Express. I booked a Superior room through Trip.com for RM92.57, a price inclusive of taxes but excluding breakfast.

First Impressions: Lobby and Check-in

Arriving at around 5 PM, I headed straight to the front desk located in the lobby on Level 4, the same level as the UTC food court. The lobby is relatively small but features pleasant decor. Besides the reception counter, there's a self-service convenience store, a snooker table, and a foosball table. The check-in process was quick, and the hotel required a deposit of RM100.

The Superior Room: Compact and Functional

After receiving my room access card, I took one of the four elevators to Level 12. The elevators were a bit slow, likely due to the building's age. My Superior room, though only 215 square feet, felt quite spacious due to its minimalist design. It contained a king-sized bed and a metal rack for making drinks. To the right of the entrance was a mirror and a clothes hanging area, although hangers were not provided. A 32-inch TV was mounted on the wall opposite the foot of the bed.

Bathroom and Amenities

The bathroom, located to the left of the entrance, was surprisingly spacious. It included a sink, toilet, and an open shower area with only a ceiling-mounted shower head. A bidet hose was conveniently located next to the toilet. The hotel provided toiletries such as toothbrushes, but the bath towels were smaller than standard hotel towels. My room offered a beautiful view of the Merdeka 118 building, though the window was unfortunately quite dirty.

Connectivity and Dining Options

The hotel provides complimentary and fast Wi-Fi, with download speeds reaching 316mbps and upload speeds of 223mbps. As for mobile connectivity, CelcomDigi showed excellent speeds of 447mbps, while Tune Talk was slower at 102mbps. The room featured a Smart TV but lacked free-to-air TV channels. The shower had strong water pressure and the water could get very hot if not carefully controlled. For dining, guests can explore the food court adjacent to the lobby, although only a few stalls were open. Additionally, a newly opened food court is located on the ground floor (the former bus parking area).

Value for Money, with Room for Improvement

Overall, I found the Teedo Hotel to be great value for the price, especially considering the reasonably spacious room. However, the room felt somewhat incomplete. There was no desk for working, and no wardrobe for storing clothes. The hotel also lacked a refrigerator and iron. Being situated next to the LRT line, there was some noise from passing trains. During check-out, I learned from the staff that the hotel plans to add desks to each room in the future.

Location, Location, Location

Location-wise, the hotel is centrally located in Kuala Lumpur, making it ideal for exploring the city. It's only 900 meters from Dataran Merdeka and 2.4km from Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC). Bukit Bintang is also nearby, approximately 1.9km from Pavilion. For those using public transportation, the hotel is adjacent to the Plaza Rakyat LRT Station. Guests with vehicles can park at the UTC parking facility, informing the hotel for a fee of RM5 per entry and exit.

I've included some pictures of the hotel that I took during my stay.
