6 Days, 6 Nights in Vegas: A Family Trip
Hotel Experiences
Our family stayed at the Bellagio for 2 nights and Circus Circus for 4 nights during our Las Vegas adventure.
Bellagio (7/10)
The Bellagio is conveniently located for watching the famous fountains and enjoying the buffet at Caesars. It's also within walking distance of the High Roller Observation Wheel and many hotels on the Strip. The rooms were a bit small, but the bathrooms were surprisingly large. The minibar was full of drinks, but the prices were outrageous. No microwave was available. Water bottles cost around $25 and overnight parking was $20.
Circus Circus (2/10)
Three years ago, Circus Circus was decent, so we booked it again for our kids. Unfortunately, the rooms have seriously deteriorated. No refrigerator or microwave. There was a parking fee, and the area felt deserted. I wouldn't recommend walking alone at night due to the presence of many people.
Vegas Shows
Make sure to use the Vegas app to select seats and get the best deals on show tickets.
David Copperfield at MGM Grand (10/10)
Absolutely worth the money! A must-see show.
Mystere By Cirque du Soleil at Treasure Island (10/10)
Spectacular stage production with highly skilled performers.
I was disappointed that I couldn't see Shin Lim because of the limited showtimes. O at the Bellagio only performs from Wednesday onward, which didn't fit our schedule.
Dining in Chinatown
For delicious food, head to Chinatown!
Pho Kim Long (8/10)
Many staff members, fast service, and clean. The food is generally good, but I wouldn't recommend the cơm gia đình (family-style meal). While the white rice is fragrant, the soup and braised/stir-fried dishes were too salty.
AYCE (All You Can Eat) Korean BBQ (10/10)
Make a reservation in advance. Every restaurant is fantastic; I've tried three different spots, and they all tasted similar.
Yến Viet Kitchen (9/10)
Offers mì quảng (turmeric noodles), bánh xèo (crispy crepes), and bánh khọt (mini savory pancakes). Delicious and clean, although the vegetables aren't quite authentic.
Viet Noodle Bar (10/10)
Most dishes are tasty, and the restaurant is clean. Friendly staff. Definitely try the bò lá lốt (betel leaf-wrapped beef) and grilled meats.
Phở Gà Bac Bác (10/10)
Specializes in chicken dishes. Try the phở gà nướng xả (grilled lemongrass chicken pho). Clean restaurant.
Phở Thanh (5/10)
Offers fresh sugarcane juice and many snacks, but most of them are expired. The restaurant is not clean.
Phở Số 1 (8/10)
Good food and a clean restaurant.
Snacks & Drinks
Gongcha (10/10)
Authentic tea flavor, not too sweet.
85°C Bakery Cafe (10/10)
Just like the ones in California!
Paparoti (10/10)
If you love coffee, this place is a must-try. Specializes in coffee buns and coffee.
Sightseeing
Welcome to Las Vegas Sign
Golden Nugget in Downtown (at night)
Bellagio Fountains
Grand Canal Shoppes
A recreation of Venice, Italy. Take a gondola ride and listen to the singers on the boats; very romantic.
The Sphere
Visit at night. I didn't go inside. My sister said it's not worth spending $100 just to watch a 3D movie.
Shark Reef Aquarium
Small and not particularly impressive in my opinion.
Final Thoughts
Next time, I will stay at Treasure Island hotel (parking fee), which has a decent pho restaurant inside, or the Paris hotel for easy access to dining and transportation along the Strip.
