Singapore Food Adventures: From Malls to the Airport!

A Delicious Deep Dive into Singaporean Cuisine

Get ready for a culinary journey through Singapore! I've been on a mission to try everything from popular chain restaurants to local gems, all the way from shopping malls to the airport. Here's my honest take:

Must-Try Singaporean Dishes

  • Laksa: A Singaporean Staple

This iconic dish is like a richer, more flavorful version of Vietnamese bún riêu with coconut milk. It's incredibly satisfying but not too spicy. Location: City Square Mall.

  • Hawker Chan: Michelin-Starred Street Food

The famous soya sauce chicken rice is a must-try! The sauce isn't too salty, the chicken is incredibly tender, and the char siu is delicious. The noodles are perfectly chewy. Highly recommended for noodle lovers! Location: Chinatown.

  • Songfa Bak Kut Teh: Pepper Power!

This place is legendary for a reason! Slurping up the peppery broth is an absolute delight, and the pork ribs are so tender they practically melt in your mouth. Worth the queue! Location: Jewel.

Sweet Treats & Refreshments

  • Heytea: Fruity Refreshment

I tried the grape smoothie. It was a tad too sweet for my liking, but similar to Jiancha in Thailand, though a bit thinner (probably because of too much ice). Location: Marina Bay Sands.

  • TWG Tea: Aromatic Bliss

The Love Me Tea was a winner! You can really taste the tea, with a hint of fruit. Even as someone who isn't a huge tea drinker, I was hooked.

  • Llaollao: Frozen Yogurt Perfection

This frozen yogurt is legendary and I have to get it every single time. It's the best of the best! Location: Suntec City, Changi Airport T3.

  • Universal Studios Watermelon Juice

Super refreshing, but be prepared to pay a premium for it.

  • Nasty Monster: Cute but...

I bought this purely for its cuteness! I thought it would be mint chocolate flavored but turned out to be vanilla or something similar. The ice cream was a pass, but the cookies with the flowing chocolate center were delicious.

  • Lady M: Chocolate Crepe Disappointment

I ordered the chocolate crepe, but personally, I wasn't a fan. The cream was delicious with rich chocolate flavor, but the crepe layers were a bit dry and tough. A bit disappointing given the price.

Savory Delights

  • Universal Studios: Chicken & Pasta

This place was surprisingly good! The half chicken was incredibly tender and subtly salty, served with a tasty sauce. The baked potato was also amazing, but not worth the price. Two dishes and two drinks cost me nearly $200!

  • Wingstop: TikTok Hype is Real!

I finally got to try the famous Wingstop (it's not available in Thailand). I ordered the classic set with wings, fries, and a drink, trying the garlic Parmesan and pepper lemon flavors. I absolutely loved it! Location: Wingstop City Square Mall.

  • Convenience Store Find: Irvins Salted Egg Spicy Noodles

These instant noodles are amazing! The salted egg flavor is rich, savory, and spicy – absolutely top-notch!

  • Hong Kong Noodles (Changi Airport T4)

Ordered the wonton noodle soup. The broth was light with a strong shrimp flavor. Edible, but nothing special.

  • Indian Food near Little India

I was curious, so I tried some Indian food. Unfortunately, it wasn't to my taste. The spices were too unfamiliar for me.

Final Thoughts

That's everything I ate in Singapore! Some were amazing, some not so much. If you have any recommendations, please share them with me! I'm always looking for new places to try on my next visit.
