Heads up, Shanghai travelers! Planning your Labor Day adventures? The Shanghai Metro is rolling out some important service adjustments you'll want to know about.
Extended Service for Holiday Commuting
To make your holiday travel smoother during the Labor Day period:
- Slow Down & Enjoy: From April 30th to May 3rd, 2025, lines 1, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 13 will operate on a slower schedule. Take your time and soak in the city!
- Late Night Cruising: On May 4th and 5th, 2025, Lines 2, 10, and 17 will add extra late-night services, extending the operating hours until 0:00 the following day. Note that these special late-night trains will not offer interchange services at transfer stations.
Important Station Closures for Crowd Control
Please be aware of the following temporary station closures due to traffic control requirements:
- From May 1st to May 5th, 2025: Daily, from 16:00 until the end of service, Nanjing East Road Station on Line 2, Nanjing East Road Station on Line 10, and Yuyuan Garden Station on Line 14 will be closed.
- Yuyuan Garden Station on Line 10 will remain OPEN.
- During these closures, trains will pass through the affected stations without stopping, and no entry, exit, or transfer services will be available.
