Traveling on a Budget: My Mallorca Adventure!
Hey everyone! I just got back from an amazing, super-affordable trip to Mallorca, and I wanted to share some tips for having a fantastic vacation without breaking the bank!
My Budget-Friendly Mallorca Trip
We spent 5 days and 4 nights there, and the total cost was just 400 euros per person (we were a group of three), including travel, accommodation, and food (which was definitely the biggest expense! 🤣)
Getting There: Snagging Cheap Flights
I scored cheap flights with EasyJet. The key is to check regularly for the cheapest dates that work for you. The best time to go is usually May-June or September-October because it's not too hot, and you can still swim in the sea. I got a one-way ticket from France for only 40 euros!
Affordable Accommodation by the Sea
Since it wasn't peak season, our hotel cost only 70 euros per night for three people. It was right next to the beach and even had a pool!
Delicious (and Reasonable!) Dining
We ate out a lot and enjoyed some amazing restaurants. On average, we spent 45 euros per person per day on food. Our hotel room had a kitchen, so we could have saved money by buying groceries, but we were on vacation! Plus, since the flights and hotel were so affordable, we decided to treat ourselves.
Getting Around the Island
Mallorca has a great bus system. You just need a bank card – tap it when you get on for each person in your group, and then tap it again when you get off! Make sure you tap off the same number of times as you tapped on.
Relaxing and Exploring Locally
We mostly wanted to relax, so we only spent one day in Palma. The rest of the time, we explored around our hotel, strolled along the harbor, and enjoyed swimming in the sea. We skipped things like aquariums, water parks, and museums, which helped keep the costs down.
