Is Zhouzhuang Ancient Town Really Worth Visiting?
Road Trip Tips for Zhouzhuang
We drove ourselves to Zhouzhuang. If you're driving, avoid parking at the Zhouzhuang Ancient Town Visitor Center parking lot. It's quite a distance from the ancient town itself! Instead, park at the Fuguiyuan parking area. It's free and much closer to the scenic area entrance. This will definitely make your trip to Zhouzhuang better.
Free Admission Times
You can enter Zhouzhuang Ancient Town for free before 7:30 AM and after 9:00 PM! If you book a B&B inside, ask the owner to pick you up! After all, a 100 RMB ticket is a bit pricey.
Breakfast at Xin Zhenyuan
After entering the ancient town, we followed the directions and found Xin Zhenyuan for breakfast. I ordered pan-fried crab roe eggs, beef siu mai, shrimp wontons, and sweet osmanthus bean paste buns. Everything was delicious, with no bad choices! The best part is that within the scenic area, you can enjoy a meal for just over ten yuan – excellent value! Try to get a window seat on the second floor to enjoy the ancient town scenery while you eat!
Exploring Zhouzhuang
After breakfast, we strolled around the ancient town. It's no wonder it's known as China's number one water town! Everywhere you look, there are Ming and Qing dynasty buildings with white walls and black tiles, small bridges, and flowing water. The scenery is beautiful! Photo opportunities abound!
Final Thoughts on Zhouzhuang
In my opinion, it's definitely worth visiting because the scenery is so beautiful. Once you arrive, you won't want to leave! Discover the beauty of this water town.
