A Quick Getaway to Hoi An: My Valentine's Day Adventure

The Search for a Villa

Getting from Da Nang to Hoi An took us about 40 minutes. We were trying to find a villa by searching on Facebook and TikTok, but everything was fully booked because it was a holiday! Lesson learned: book in advance. Luckily, after arriving in Hoi An, a friend recommended a villa, and we were lucky enough that someone had just checked out. Talk about timing!

Coffee Break at Trình Cafe

While waiting for the villa to be cleaned, we headed to Trình Cafe. It's a breezy spot right by the river with a great view. I think their bestsellers are the Hoi An Coconut Water and the Coffee with Avocado. I tried the coffee with avocado, and it was amazing! Only 42k VND, and so worth it. The avocado was creamy, rich, and smooth, perfectly blending with the coffee. Unfortunately, I didn't try the coconut water. I had a member card from c.nhung and got a 10% discount. Overall, a great experience: beautiful cafe, cool breeze, picture-perfect views, delicious drinks, friendly staff, and a discount too! 100/10!

Villa Life

After coffee, we checked into our villa and signed the rental agreement. It cost 1,400k VND for one night (after a 100k discount), plus a 1,000k VND deposit. The villa was beautiful, fully equipped with everything we needed, including a pool, a pool table, and a BBQ area. It's located at 10 Huỳnh Ngọc Huệ. We relaxed for a bit, then headed out to explore Hoi An's Ancient Town at night.

Exploring Hoi An's Ancient Town

We wandered around the Ancient Town, taking photos and checking things out. A glass of passion fruit juice was only 15k VND – perfect for rehydrating after all that walking. Then, we grabbed a bite at one of the restaurants along the street (I don't remember the name). They had a menu with clear and reasonable prices. Banh Dap was 25k VND, Cao Lau 30k VND, and Mi Quang also 30k VND. So cheap and delicious! Afterward, we saw vendors selling grilled sausages and grilled cheese. I bought the grilled cheese for 40k VND, but had to wait because it seemed like they charged foreigners different prices. I had to wait for them to pay and get their cheese before I could get mine.

Villa BBQ Fun

We returned to the villa and bought some snacks to have a BBQ party. It was perfect! You just need to bring the food and drinks you want; everything else is provided. There's a TV and karaoke machine, but music is only allowed until 10 pm.

Morning Swim and Coffee

In the morning, I swam in the pool and then walked to a nearby coffee shop, DuCa Cafe. It's a small place, but the drinks are fantastic. I ordered a brown sugar milk tea with boba and egg cream. It was so fragrant and creamy! The cafe is located at 15 Huỳnh Ngọc Huệ. There was only one person working, so it's a self-service kind of place. The coffee was amazing, so 9/10.

Check-Out and Final Thoughts

We had to check out by 11 am. Before leaving, we cleaned and tidied up the villa, so we got our 1,000k VND deposit back. If you don't clean up, you'll be charged a cleaning fee. Overall, I give the villa and the owner/manager a 10/10. They were very helpful, enthusiastic, friendly, and supportive. That concludes my fun and memorable trip to Hoi An!
