Délices De Mai: A Hidden Gem in Thao Dien
I recently visited Délices De Mai after seeing a review from admin, drawn in by the promise of affordable French cuisine. It's definitely "hidden" as the previous review mentioned – getting there was a bit of an adventure, but motorbikes can go straight to the restaurant.
My Experience
The Food
- I ordered the Chicken & Mushroom Crepe, following the recommendation in Nhan's review. It was delicious, oozing with melted cheese – definitely not diet-friendly! 😝
- I also tried the Chicken with Peanut Butter Sauce, which I ordered with a side of garlic-sauteed potatoes because I love peanut butter. I thought it was pretty good! The chicken wasn't dry, and the garlic potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Dipping them in the peanut sauce was a treat. The portions here are quite generous, so bring a friend to help you finish! 😄
- For dessert, I opted for the Creme Brulee. It was alright, but not particularly memorable for me.
The restaurant wasn't too crowded when I went, so the service was great and the food came out quickly.
The Price
Since I went on the weekend, the 215k set lunch wasn't available. Between two of us, ordering only two main dishes plus dessert and drinks, the total bill was under 500k.
The Atmosphere
The restaurant has a casual vibe, perfect for a quick and simple meal. Oh, and they've installed air conditioning, so no need to worry about the heat! 😂
The menu is quite diverse, so I'll definitely come back to try other dishes.
