Cheongsapo: Discovering a Peaceful Fishing Village Near Busan's Haeundae Beach

Discover Cheongsapo: Busan's Hidden Gem!

Hey there, travel buddies! Let me introduce you to one of my absolute favorite spots in Busan: Cheongsapo!

What is Cheongsapo?

Cheongsapo 청사포 is a charming little fishing village and port nestled near the bustling Haeundae area. It's got two main attractions that you absolutely can't miss: the iconic Cheongsapo Twin Lighthouses 청사포쌍둥이등대 and the thrilling Cheongsapo Daritdol Skywalk 청사포전망대.

Getting There:

The only public transport option to get to this awesome place is the Haeundaegu 2 해운대구2 green bus. You can hop on after taking the subway to Jangsan Station (Exit 7) or catch it somewhere around Haeundae. The final stop drops you right at the port with the Twin Lighthouses. From there, it's a pleasant kilometer walk following the signs to reach the Skywalk.

First Impressions: Tranquility Defined

My first impression? Utter tranquility. It's incredible how this place, so close to the lively Haeundae, exudes such calmness. I arrived around 9:30 AM and found only a few locals fishing and some folks working on boats. It was incredibly peaceful! As noon approached, more tourists started to trickle in. The Twin Lighthouses – one white, one red – are absolutely stunning. Each lighthouse has its own pier that stretches far out, perfect for those dreamy, Insta-worthy shots. When I visited, Busan had just experienced heavy rains, so the morning was a bit gloomy, but the sun came out in full force by midday.

Photography Tip:

Here's a pro tip you might not find elsewhere: Visit in the afternoon for the best lighting! Since Cheongsapo faces east, the morning sun can be behind the lighthouses, causing shadows in your photos.

A Photographer's Paradise:

Personally, I think the light around noon to afternoon is perfect. Your photos will come out stunning without needing much editing!

More to Explore:

Along the harbor, you'll find a row of colorful buildings that are quite picturesque. There are also plenty of cafes with amazing sea views and, of course, the famous grilled seafood restaurants. Need a quick bite? There's a huge GS25 convenience store where you can grab some instant noodles and enjoy them with a stunning sea view. I even got lucky with a "buy 2 get 1 free" deal! I spent so much time at the harbor and lighthouses that I ran out of time to visit the Skywalk, but the photos I've seen look incredible! There's also an abandoned railway tunnel nearby that's a fantastic photo spot. Definitely Google it for more info!

Final Thoughts: A Busan Must-See

You can easily spend a whole afternoon in Cheongsapo, exploring both the lighthouses and the Skywalk, then relaxing with a coffee or indulging in some grilled seafood. I absolutely loved this area. The friendly locals have a certain charm that I found incredibly endearing. There's no noisy traffic, the air is fresh, and the scenery is beautiful. All you hear are the waves and the seagulls – it's so peaceful, and any worries just melt away. Busan, in general, has stolen my heart. I can't recommend it enough, and I'll definitely be back for more! 😚
