SANTORINI - JUNE 2024: My Unforgettable Trip! 🇬🇷
Hey everyone!
I know there are tons of Santorini posts in this group, but I just HAD to share my amazing experience on this gorgeous island! Seriously, those YouTube videos I binged? They don't lie – the scenery is absolutely breathtaking! 🏞️
Here's the lowdown on my trip:
- Getting There: I flew from Nice (long story!), transiting through Athens. But if you're coming from the UK, there are tons of direct flights from London, which is super convenient!
Where I Stayed: Hotel Bliss! 🏨
Major score! I snagged a hotel with an incredible view (check out pic 1!). It's called the Acropole Sunrise Hotel - Santorini, perched at the highest point of Kamari town. Sunrise views were an absolute 💯!
The owners were seriously the sweetest, most helpful guys ever. Forget booking tours, taxis, or restaurant recommendations? Just show up with your suitcase, and they'll plan EVERYTHING for you, from A to Z! They told me the hotel's been in the family since 1982. You can tell they put their heart and soul into it – no wonder guests keep coming back! 😂
Getting Around: Scooter Vibes 🛵
Heard the buses can be infrequent, crowded, and unreliable, so I booked a scooter for airport pickup. (I don't have a full driving license yet, so scooter it was!). I went with Fresh Rent Moto ATV & Car Rental (lots of good reviews), and they accepted my Vietnam motorbike license! 🙌
Only €60 for 3 days, and a full tank of gas cost just €6-7. The rental place was super flexible too. I returned the scooter an hour late (with advance notice), and they didn't charge me a penny! So friendly!
Riding a scooter in Santorini is an experience! It's the perfect way to zip between towns and see everything at your own pace.
Foodie Finds: Delicious Deals! 😋
I took some advice from fellow travelers and found a MUST-TRY spot:
- Fratzeskos Fish Tavern - Perissa: Fresh seafood and amazing prices!
Plus, tons of small restaurants serve up incredible Souvlaki or Gyros for just €4! Finding a €4 gyros (or a £3 one in the UK!) these days is practically a miracle! 😂
As a massive Mediterranean food fan, trying local places recommended by my hotel owners was a HUGE win! 😂
The Verdict? Santorini is Seriously Special! ❤️
Even though it was my first time in Greece, Santorini totally stole my heart. The hospitality, the friendly people, and the flexible approach to tourism were incredible. And the scenery? Absolutely mesmerizing! I wanted to capture every moment and can't wait to return! 🩵
Wishing you all a summer filled with joy! 🎉🎉🎉
