Singapore Adventure: 5 Days, 4 Nights with a 4-Year-Old!

Exploring Singapore on a budget with a little one? Get ready for adventure! We packed our 5-day, 4-night trip with thrills, nature, and unforgettable memories, hitting Adventure Cove Waterpark, Mega Adventure Park (Sentosa), Jurong Lake Garden, Pasir Ris, the Cable Car, and of course, Changi Airport! Don't forget the essentials: water and snacks!

Day 1: Adventure Cove Waterpark - Sentosa

  • Morning Arrival: Touchdown, check-in at Hard Rock Hotel, Sentosa (12:30 PM), and straight to Adventure Cove Waterpark!
  • Ticket Time: Buy tickets on-site (card payments accepted). First things first, measure your child's height to see which awesome rides they can conquer!
  • The Basics: Park entry is a must. Experiences like dolphin photos or diving have scheduled times (consider the weather – thunderstorms shut things down, and refunds aren't guaranteed!).
  • Fun for All Heights: Beyond the extra-ticket activities, tons of games and attractions are included once inside with height requirements.
  • Pipeline Plunge Pro-Tip: If your child is brave enough for the Pipeline Plunge, make sure they HOLD ON TIGHT! It's intense, even for adults!
  • Must-Haves: Swimsuits (long-sleeved are great for warmth), swim caps (essential!), towels, and flip-flops. Men, shorts and a cap will do!
  • Waterproof Wonders: Keep phones and cards dry with waterproof pouches. Pack light to fit everything in a locker ($10), or find a safe corner if you're feeling brave (at your own risk!).
  • Sentosa Transportation Hack: Grab the Wi-Fi password and QR code from the front desk to unlock free transportation from VivoCity to Sentosa stations!

Day 2: Mega Adventure Park, Sentosa

We fueled up with breakfast at VivoCity and walked to the final Sentosa station, dedicating the entire day to exploring and conquering Mega Adventure Park!

  • Mega Fun: Tickets are around $99, with discounts for multiple rides. We bought ours at the counter.
  • Ready to Fly: After buying your tickets, there are many other activities that can be joined if you are tall enough. You will be issued a harness and ride a cart to the site. Store belongings in a locker or a designated spot (you won't be able to grab them mid-flight!). Shorter kiddos can ride with a grown-up.
  • Capture the Moment: Secure cameras with wrist straps. Let go and pose while you're on the line. The staff will snap photos (free!), but you'll pay if you want prints or digital copies.
  • Soaring High: Head to the top level, queue up, and watch others to get the hang of it.
  • Smooth Landing: If your feet don't reach the net, grab the rope for assistance from staff. Scan the QR code on your wristband before leaving!
  • Beach Time (Maybe): Pack swimsuits for the beach! Due to oil spill concerns, some areas might be closed. Check conditions before you go!

Day 3: Nature Escapes - Jurong Lake Garden & Pasir Ris

(1) Jurong Lake Garden (8 AM)

  • Nature's Playground: This massive park boasts a free play area, including water and sand zones! Pack extra clothes!
  • Relax and Recharge: Bring a mat (towel, jacket) and find a shady spot for a midday nap.
  • Recommendation: It's a nice change of scenery if you've already visited many scenic locations, or you may regret missing other great attractions while travelling!

(2) Gallop Stable Pasir Ris (11 AM) - Horseback Riding Adventure

  • Getting There: Take the MRT East West Line (green) to Pasir Ris station and walk for 3 minutes based on google map.
  • Saddle Up: Pony ride tickets can be purchased once you have arrived. You will also receive a disposable head cap to put on for hygenic purposes for the helmet. Grab a helmet that fits while you're queuing. Drop your ticket in the box, and hop on your pony (staff will help; parents, grab those photo ops!).
  • More Fun: Kids will love the plaster painting station.
  • Beach Bumming (Kind Of): This beach isn't the best (it's right next to the stables), but the park has a large beach area with a mangrove forest.
  • Essentials: Wear shoes, socks, hats, jackets, and bring water and snacks!
  • Recommendation: Head back to Gardens by the Bay for the free 8 PM light show or catch the Marina Bay light and water show in the evening!
  • Parental Advisory: Get ready to carry your kids or chase after them! It's exhausting!

Day 4: Cable Car Views (or Alternative Adventures)

Instead of spending the whole day on the Cable Car and instead of spending too much time traveling, consider this option:

  • Duck Car Adventure: Explore the city by land and sea in a Duck Car! Ride around town, then plunge into the water for views of Marina Bay and a splash from the Merlion!

Day 5: Singapore Changi Airport - A Destination Itself!

Arrive early and explore Changi Airport! It's packed with amazing attractions!

Wishing you an amazing trip!
