My 3-Year Multiple Entry Japan Tourist Visa Experience (Hanoi)
My Visa Journey
Hey everyone! I wanted to share my experience applying for a 3-year multiple entry Japan tourist visa from Hanoi. Hopefully, it can help you with your own application!
About Me
I've traveled to several countries before, including two trips to Japan (in 2015 and 2023). I also did a student exchange program for almost a year back in 2016.
I applied under condition A: I had traveled to Japan once and to another G7 country once within the last 3 years. I think that helps my application for a Japan visa!
Employment
I recently changed jobs earlier this year and am working as an office employee. I didn't submit my employment contract.
Required Documents
I prepared all the necessary documents as listed on the embassy website. Even though a detailed itinerary, hotel bookings, flight tickets, or a leave request weren't explicitly required, I decided to prepare and submit them anyway. I booked refundable "pay at the property" hotels and selected "Pay later" for my Vietnam Airlines flight. My leave request and employment confirmation letter included both Vietnamese and English versions. I indicated that I would accept a single-entry visa if a multiple-entry visa couldn't be granted. In my cover letter, I mentioned that my company pays salaries in cash.
Application Timeline
- Submitted my application through VFS Hanoi on the afternoon of September 17th.
- VFS returned my passport to the embassy on September 26th.
- Received my passport via express delivery on the morning of September 28th.
- Visa issued on September 20th – so fast!
Need Help?
If you have any questions or need any forms, let me know! (Except for my cover letter, as it contains some personal information.) I'm happy to share while my experience is still fresh in my mind!
