-
The Grand Palace
The Grand Palace is a sprawling complex of historic buildings. It's a top attraction for first-time visitors to Bangkok.
Been inside before? No problem! Snapping photos of the palace exterior is totally free and incredibly beautiful. Capture that majestic backdrop without paying an entry fee. I learned that hack from the best travel bloggers.
-
Chinatown (Yaowarat Road)
Take the MRT to Hua Lamphong station. Chinatown, or Yaowarat Road, is a vibrant and bustling hub of Chinese culture. It's best to visit from 5 PM onwards. Be prepared for some traffic, but the energy is electric! The street comes alive with dazzling lights, street food vendors, and a palpable sense of excitement. The atmosphere is amazing.
-
Starbucks Sukhumvit 24
I'm hopping on a local trend here! The Thai locals are flocking to this Starbucks for photos. It's not just about the coffee – this location is nestled within The Davis Sukhumvit 24, a residential area boasting charming European-style architecture. The aesthetic is simply beautiful. Join the fun and add a touch of Thai chic to your feed!
-
Wat Arun View (from Wat Pho side)
I haven't actually ventured *inside* Wat Arun yet – it always seems so crowded! Instead, I've discovered the most amazing panoramic views of the temple from across the river, near Wat Pho.
Head over to Vi Vi The Coffee Place (a quick Google search will get you there!), and stroll along the riverbank. The photo opportunities of Wat Arun from this angle are absolutely stunning.
-
Wat Ratchabophit
Wat Ratchabophit is conveniently located near Chinatown, making it easy to visit both in one trip. Admission is free, and the temple grounds are peaceful and serene, a welcome escape from the city's bustle. Plus, the temple boasts unique architecture and a captivating color palette.
-
Central Embassy
Bangkok has a ton of incredible shopping malls. While many flock to Icon Siam, why not explore Central Embassy? It's just as grand, with stunning architecture that's sure to impress. Every snapshot here is a winner!
-
Wat Paknam
Another must-see temple that won't cost you a dime is Wat Paknam. The temple is home to an incredibly impressive giant Buddha statue. You can capture beautiful shots from afar, or even take a boat tour for a unique perspective. Highly recommended!
-
The Bangkok Art and Culture Center (BACC)
This spot is beautiful, accessible, and centrally located – right across from MBK Center! And the best part? It's free! Spend hours exploring, snapping photos, grabbing a coffee, and then head over to MBK for even more fun.
Beyond the major exhibitions, BACC often hosts smaller, independent shows. It's a fantastic space to relax, browse souvenirs, and capture some seriously cool photos.
-
Chong Nonsi Skywalk
Here's a hidden gem that's totally free: the Chong Nonsi Skywalk. This pedestrian bridge features a unique cable-stayed design. If you time it right, you can capture photos with the BTS Skytrain passing by, creating a truly iconic Bangkok image.
-
Open House
Open House is a co-living space that has a book store, eating area, and café with panoramic views of the Bangkok skyline. It is located on the 6th floor, and is large and open. It's easy to spend a whole day here because there are many free activities, and great spots for photos.
