Heads Up! Ground Service Transition Impacts Some Vietjet Flights
Flight Schedule Adjustments at Tan Son Nhat Airport
Get the latest scoop! On April 20th and 21st, 2025, some Vietjet flights arriving at and departing from Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN) experienced scheduling tweaks. This was due to Saigon Ground Services (SAGS) officially handing over all ground service operations to Vietjet at the stroke of midnight on April 20th, 2025.
Timing is everything! This transition coincided with a peak travel period, adding to the challenge as Vietjet ramps up preparations for the new T3 terminal. Increased flight frequencies and packed parking areas contributed to some congestion during this busy holiday season.
Contributing Factors & Peak Season Prep
Adding to the mix, pre-holiday operational adjustments ahead of the April 30th and May 1st holidays, along with increased passenger traffic and numerous events in Ho Chi Minh City, led to some flight plan revisions.
Teamwork Makes the Dream Work!
Vietjet moved quickly to coordinate with key partners, including the Southern Airports Authority, Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Tan Son Nhat Border Police, Tan Son Nhat Customs, SAGS, SASCO, and SCSC. The airline also reported the situation to the Civil Aviation Authority, receiving prompt support from the authorities.
Smooth Skies Ahead
Vietjet has been providing its own ground services at Noi Bai Airport (HAN) since August 2020, successfully managing hundreds of thousands of flights. As of April 20th this year, Vietjet has extended this self-service model to Tan Son Nhat Airport.
Great news! As of today, April 22nd, operations at Tan Son Nhat and associated airports are stabilizing, and Vietjet is ready to deliver safe flights during the upcoming peak holiday season.
Our Sincere Apologies & Compensation for Affected Passengers
Vietjet sincerely apologizes to valued passengers whose flights were affected. To show our support and appreciation, in addition to airport assistance, Vietjet is offering a goodwill E-voucher (equivalent to cash) with the following values:
- VND 500,000 per passenger on domestic flights
- VND 1,000,000 per passenger on international flights
This policy applies to flights delayed by 2 hours or more on April 20th and 21st, 2025.
Thank You for Your Understanding
Vietjet appreciates your continued trust and support. We hope for your understanding regarding any unforeseen inconveniences. A huge thank you to all airport partners for their quick collaboration! Vietjet is working hard to implement solutions to serve passengers safely, conveniently, and attentively during this peak season.
P.S. The Admin and team have been flying Vietjet quite a bit this past year, and we're grateful for the lucky flights with no delays! 🥰
