Con Dao: My Solo Adventure to Paradise! 🏝️

Been dreaming about it for ages, and finally, I took the plunge! A solo trip to Con Dao because no one else would join me. 🤣

I thought Con Dao was all about solemn pilgrimages, but WOW, was I wrong! This peaceful, untouched island is bursting with stunning spots!

💰 Budget Breakdown: 4 Days, 3 Nights (Solo Trip)

Total damage: 3.3 million VND

🚢 Getting There & Around

  • Ferry: From Tran De Port (Soc Trang).
  • Tickets: Outbound: 408k VND, Inbound: 480k VND.
  • Tip: The ferry ride is about 2.5 hours. If you're prone to seasickness, Tran De is your best bet, it's the closest. Also, check the weather and aim for a calm, less windy day!
  • Island Transport: Motorbike rental: 150k VND/day.

🏠 Accommodation

  • Hotel in the heart of Con Dao (right by the clock roundabout). Price: 350k VND/night.

Day 4:

  • 8 AM: The abandoned ship area. Super scenic! Go before 10 AM before the tide comes in. 📸
  • 10 AM: Check out of the hotel and head back to the mainland.

🍲 Foodie Adventures

  • Com Nieu Hoa Giay (Rice in Clay Pot)
  • Seafood at the night market + Com Chay Kho Quet (Crispy Rice with Caramelized Fish Sauce)
  • Banh Canh Cua Ngoc (Crab Noodle Soup)
  • Bun Cha Ca (Fish Cake Noodle Soup) – opposite Con Dao Market
  • MUST-TRY: Coconut Ice Cream at Dat Con Dao. Trust me, it's the best on the island! 🥥🍦

✨ Final Thoughts

Con Dao is still wonderfully untouched. Beautiful beaches, clear turquoise waters, friendly locals, and lots of monkeys that aren't shy about begging for food! 🐒

Combining a spiritual pilgrimage with sightseeing? Con Dao is a two-in-one experience!
