Confession time: I'm a HUGE fan of Délices de Mai - a charming little French eatery serving up authentic dishes. But here's the catch... it's a bit of a secret! It's changed locations a few times and is tucked away in an alley, which means it's often quiet. 😔
The owner is super friendly and passionate, but he runs the whole show himself and isn't a tech whiz. So, the restaurant is mostly known by loyal regulars. It's a shame, because the food is incredible! That's why I'm spilling the beans with this review - you HAVE to experience it! 😉
Must-Try Dishes (According to Me!):
- Chicken Cordon Bleu Mustard: Trust me, this is heaven on a plate! Rich and cheesy, but the mustard sauce cuts through the richness perfectly. 🍗🧀
- Duck Leg Confit: Oh. My. Goodness. The duck literally melts in your mouth. A true taste of France! 🦆
- Seabass Ratatouille / Seabass Lemon Butter: Choose your adventure! Either the veggie-packed Ratatouille or the zesty Lemon Butter – both are light yet full of flavor. 🐟

A Few (Minor) Caveats:
- The Great Location Migration: Délices de Mai has moved a few times, making it tricky to find! But don't worry, just follow the Google Maps link below.
- Midday Heat: The owner mentioned that they're installing AC in March, so it should be cooler soon! Maybe stick to evenings for now. ☀️
- A Little Wait (15-20 minutes): Everything is cooked fresh to order, so there's a slight wait. But it's SO worth it for the quality! Think of it as a good thing! 😄
The Price is Right! 💰
- Main Courses: Around 120k - 170k per dish (generous portions, easily shareable!).
- Lunch & Dinner Combo: 215k for an appetizer, main course, and drink. Unbeatable value!
- Compared to other Western restaurants in Thao Dien, this is a STEAL! I always order a feast without breaking the bank (under 500k!).
The Verdict:
Authentic French cuisine, reasonable prices, cozy atmosphere, and seriously delicious food! If you love French food but hate the fancy price tags, you NEED to try Délices de Mai!
